Modifications
While there are some modifications or accessories that will remain, I occasionally change things around, add or remove things, as part of the fine tuning process. ie; getting the car just right for my needs. Obviously my needs may change so I change the car accordingly. Below is a list of modifications & added accessories which may or may not be seen in any photos I post due to the above mentioned fine tuning, or the age of a particular photo. This list includes some accessories that are only put in/on the car when going off road.
I would also like to add that while this vehicle is heavily modified and accessorised, it is not the most modified. It may well be the most modified Series 2 however.
There are two guys in Victoria that have the earlier Series One X240s that have the same mods and more. I met them through the Great Wall Owners Forum (not run or endorsed by Great Wall or the importers) and it was through them that I found out what I could do and where to source the parts etc. I won't mention their names here without permission but they know who they are. My thanks goes out to them, one in particular, for putting in the hard yards and Research.
Dealer fitted options:
Other items: (fitted by me or by professionals as required)
Off Road Recovery & General Gear: (some permanently in or on the car, others thrown in when needed)
Future Modifications:

My Little Rant
The Glasshouse Mountains - My playground.
It is such a great place to have at my door step. I sometimes go out there just for a bit of solitude and a cuppa. The sad part is that in the time it takes for the water to boil for my cuppa, I have usually collected a bag full of someone else's rubbish! Thoughtless, uncaring individuals who care nothing for the environment. The same could be said for the 4wd'ers that deliberately go out there when it's been raining for a week and ruin the tracks for everyone else. It also wrecks the tracks for emergency services such as the Rural Fire Services and other fire fighting entities such as the state forest people that conduct their own burn offs. Having been a member of the NSW Rural Fire Service in the past (for 10 years) I can honestly say that I have seen places where uncaring and thoughtless people have made tracks impassable. Sad but true. You can have fun without destruction - it's not hard! |
